PRESS RELEASE

CHILDREN’S ART EXHIBIT IS LAUNCHED IN BEVERLY HILLS AND WESTLAKE VILLAGE

9021PHO launched its new partnership with the Healing Arts Reaching Kids (H.A.R.K.) guild of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Beverly Hills & Westlake Village, California, June 1, 2012 – The 9021Pho restaurants are taking action to promote their community partnership with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in an unprecedented move towards combating childhood illness.

During the past two weeks, 9021Pho hosted two significant launches for their Art Gallery Program in order to benefit the young patients of H.A.R.K. (Healing Arts Reaching Kids) supporting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The star-studded press events were held at the 9021Pho restaurants in Beverly Hills on May 23 and in Westlake Village on May 30. Reporters, bloggers, food critics, celebrities and city officials crowded the rooms enjoying Vietnamese Master Chef Kimmy Tang’s Asian fusion cuisine along with delicious local wines.

9021Pho President Greg Aghamanoukian, Chef Kimmy Tang, H.A.R.K. Founder Karen Sweeney, H.A.R.K. Rep Arlene Blumberg, and LAPD Deputy Chief Terry S. Hara

Each program involved several important speakers, including Chef Kimmy Tang, H.A.R.K. Founder Karen Sweeney, H.A.R.K. Coordinator Alex Fields, and 9021Pho President Greg Aghamanoukian, who each shared a few words about their passion for helping children in our local community.

Chef Kimmy Tang shared how this program is just the beginning of her lifetime dream to give back to children’s causes on a daily basis. She has envisioned this program as a way to “make a deposit in the universal bank of good.”

9021Pho customers will be invited to purchase the artwork for $55.00 that is hand crafted by the young patients during their stay at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; the art gives the children a spotlight for their creativity while also encouraging them through their healing process.

The artwork is displayed on the dedicated walls at each 9021Pho restaurant and patrons will purchase the pieces as an instant take-home item throughout the month for this year around exhibit. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the H.A.R.K. (Healing Arts Reaching Kids) program supporting the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

About H.A.R.K.

Children who have suffered tremendous health issues need a way to re-awaken their souls.  The Artists Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is utilizing art and music in a non-traditional way—the goal is not to make a perfect end product but to unleash the spirit of spontaneity which allows the healing to begin.  Donations to HARK directly impact the thousands of ill and injured patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, but they also impact the hospital as a whole. The creative arts therapists collaborate with the medical teams to work towards treatment goals using the creative arts as a medium.  Art, music, dance, and poetry become the communication between the patient and the healer.
